Lufthansa Group delays Dubai return to 25 November

Lufthansa Group has postponed the return of Lufthansa, SWISS and Eurowings to Dubai to 25 November 2026, citing the situation in the Middle East. The group announced the decision on Friday 23 October, Reuters reported: Lufthansa was to resume Munich to Dubai on 25 October and Frankfurt on 26 October, SWISS Zurich on 27 October and Eurowings Berlin on 1 November, and affected passengers are being contacted by their airline with flexible rebooking or a full refund. Eurowings had already withdrawn its planned Cologne Bonn and Stuttgart flights to Dubai for the whole winter, telling aeroTELEGRAPH on 13 October that tourist demand for Dubai had not recovered and that kerosene costs weighed on the routes, while Austrian Airlines' Vienna to Dubai flights are still listed from 12 December.

The group's Riyadh flights remain suspended to 18 November and Dammam to 30 November, with Eurowings' Jeddah service due on 12 November, according to The National. Air Arabia's cancellations on 25 October reached beyond Saudi Arabia: Sharjah flights to Kuwait, Dhaka, Chattogram, London Gatwick, Athens and Entebbe and Abu Dhabi flights to Multan, alongside its Riyadh, Dammam, Abha and Jizan services; Gulf News notes that not every cancellation is linked to the regional situation. Flights by Iranian airlines remain suspended until further notice, and Riyadh's airport reopened two terminals on 25 October (see the Saudi Arabia thread).

Residents booked to Germany or Switzerland on a Lufthansa Group airline before 25 November should contact the airline for rebooking or a refund, and anyone booked with Air Arabia or a foreign airline should confirm the flight before leaving for the airport; an unresolved complaint can be taken to the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority within 14 days.
