The European Union Aviation Safety Agency's conflict zone bulletin for the Gulf, revised on 30 September, runs to 16 November 2026. It recommends that airlines under its oversight do not fly at any altitude over the waters of the Gulf, or over the Gulf of Oman west of longitude 58 degrees east, except to arrive at or depart from airports in the region, and that they take potential risks into account over the land territory of the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. A separate bulletin for Saudi Arabia, revised on 9 October, advises against operating in parts of the Jeddah flight information region until the same date.
Gulf News reported the extension on 13 October. These are recommendations to European airlines and not closures: UAE airports remain open and UAE airlines are not bound by them. They are the background to the later return dates of several European carriers, so residents booked with a European airline should confirm their flight before travelling.
