Emirates cancels Peshawar and Sialkot flights on 29 October

Emirates cancelled its Dubai flights to Peshawar and Sialkot and their returns on 29 October, and no other Pakistani route was listed as cancelled. Gulf News's list for the day, taken from Emirates' own status page, shows EK636 from Dubai to Peshawar and EK637 back, cancelled for the second day running, and EK620 from Dubai to Sialkot and EK621 back as cancelled; no Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan or Quetta flight appeared among the cancellations at Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, the Air Arabia Abu Dhabi services to Faisalabad and Multan cancelled on 27 October were not listed, and Gulf News notes that not every cancellation is linked to the regional situation, as some are operational or technical. Gulf News also reports that some Emirates flights appear as cancelled on Dubai International's arrivals board while the airline's own status page lists them as operating, and advises passengers to verify with Emirates directly. flydubai's suspension of its Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar flights was due to end on 26 October; by 29 October no announcement from the airline confirming the restart had been published in the UAE or Pakistani press, and its travel updates page again could not be opened for this check, so passengers from those three cities should confirm with flydubai or their travel agent that the flight is operating before paying for a ticket.

Gulf News's briefing of 29 October said Dubai International is operating at full capacity, with scheduled departing seats in October up 24.3 per cent to 4.6 million, that flights by Iranian airlines to and from the UAE remain suspended, and that passengers should confirm their booking with the airline because an airport reopening does not mean every carrier has resumed; it cited no new guidance from the UAE government for residents. PIA's Riyadh flights remain suspended with no date, and a missile aimed at the Eastern Province was intercepted early on 29 October (see the Saudi Arabia thread). Confirm your flight with the airline before leaving for the airport.
